Future Bound
A non-traditional middle school with a emphasis on college and career readiness
Future Bound is a middle school option that emphasizes preparing students for high school and for career and college readiness. Our students will have opportunities to explore career options, visit job sites, businesses, college campuses, discover educational requirements for careers, and connect education with personal interests. Class will be a mixture of hands-on learning, project based learning, virtual exploration, traditional curriculum online, and development of skills and knowledge to be prepared for next steps. In 20-21, students created the school garden, developed and prepared meals in our kitchens, made candles, visited Peavey Arboretum, did bowling math, and visited the Oregon State challenge course to mention a few of their learning opportunities. While we operate within the Newport Middle School daily schedule, there is flexibility in how the time in the classroom is spent.
